In this session, our subject experts will:

• Provide an overview of Pearson Edexcel International GCSE and International A Level Sciences, including Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
• Explore how the qualifications are designed for progression and offer schools flexibility to meet the needs of more learners.

We’ll look at the structure and assessment models across International GCSE and International A Level Sciences, explaining:

• The differences between separate, double and single award science at International GCSE
• How modular and linear routes can be used to meet the needs of different learners
• Our approach to written practical assessment and why it is valued by universities.

The webinar will also highlight the teaching, learning and switching support available, including curriculum‑matched resources, professional development, results analysis tools and practical guidance for schools moving from other specifications.

Jonathan Wong – International Sciences Partner

Jonathan has over 20 years of teaching experience UK and international schools. He has taught Edexcel International GCSE Sciences, A Level, and IBDP Biology, and served in key leadership roles including Head of Biology, Head of Sixth Form Science, Deputy Head of Science, and Biomedical & Oxbridge Admissions Programme Director. He authored an online revision course for A Level Biology and contributes to Pearson’s Key Stage 3 Exploring Science resources.

Tim Lawrence – International Sciences Advisor

Tim is Pearson’s International Science Subject Advisor. Before joining Pearson, he spent over 20 years teaching Psychology, Biology and the sciences, including 14 years as a Head of Sixth Form. He now works with teachers globally, offering guidance, practical support and evidence‑based insight into course delivery for Edexcel Psychology and International Science qualifications, assessment and curriculum design.

Emma Manvell – Advanced Specialist, Product Management

Emma Manvell is responsible for all GCSE and A Level resources for our international qualifications. She works closely with schools to ensure every resource is high-quality, relevant and curriculum-aligned to support confident teaching and strong learner outcomes.

Stacey Roberts‑Brighton – Professional Development Lead

Stacey Roberts‑Brighton supports schools in successful implementation of international qualifications and resource through the creation, development and delivery of training and professional development course. She focuses on practical implementation, helping educators embed content and assessments effectively in their teaching.
